Some might remember this from the run-up to RADwood SF about a year ago, just thought I’d share latest developments!

Kinja'd!!!

Got sponsorships from Yellow Speed Racing and Accuair this year, so I went ahead and bagged it using YSR airstruts and the Accuair Endo-CVT tank + compressor + valves setup. Made for a super clean and relatively easy DIY install.

Kinja'd!!!

Plus a shiny (almost) color-matched BBK:

Kinja'd!!!

Spent a bunch of time refreshing the engine and bay so I wouldn’t be embarrassed to leave the hood open at shows. After and before.

Kinja'd!!!

Finally - designed, printed and installed my first 3D printed part, a magnetic holder for the Accuair control pad:

IG @deviant_customs for more uteness...

That’s a fancy looking bike. What is it? Flat track, down hill?

Really cool build sir. Extremely finished looking. I like your headline too.

Holy cow. This got so much better.

Looks good, though I’ve a different opinion on the engine bay .

I would have refreshed the stock air intake, left the master cylinders alone, black hoses, gaff wrap the wiring, add a splash of gloss black retaining the cruise control, gloss black the airbox top, and a battery cover to match the valve cover .

The gold-tone versus body matching... I honestly think both could work, but the body matching works better here. But I feel like the red silicon stands out too much, along with the unpainted pipe. Definitely like the OE heat shield , that’s a damn good thought.

I don’t think I’ve seen a spinergy  wheel in 15 years, maybe more. They were not known for being reliable.

I originally bought that wheel, in a broken state  as expected, in order to make a ceiling lamp. When the LEDs gave out on the lamp, I dismantled it, repaired the wheel and put it on the bike.

It’s my TT inspired two-week art project that happens to be rideable.

Good points. The short ram intake came with the car, I actually bought the stock box for smog and it seemed to offer up more torque at low revs. I only put the short ram back for shows. The silicone hoses I bought were supposed to be orange but they turned out to be red, I shoulda played it safe with black. Removing cruise control allowed more space to tuck away some of the wiring. And the black battery cover plate is actually an acrylic piece that I engraved with names of people who helped me, so given that I wanted to do that, not really feasible  to match the orange. Not sure what you meant by gold-tone though. If you mean the BBK, they are quite close in color with the BBK being a bit more metallic since they’re anodized orange.

Thanks :) I got sponsors and  pulled out the stops to have a shot at SEMA...

Gotta love made in China silicone... I ordered a set of blacks, got green instead. The stock air setup on these definitely offers more torque - all the ‘cold-air’ intakes are really just hot-air intakes. (Plastic’s a reasonable thermal insulator.) Plus Honda engines are ridiculously sensitive to intake velocity from what I’ve seen. ( That’s not gonna bite me in the ass on the Integra, noooooooooope. )

I would’ve kept the wiring as-is and gaff-taped it. Too many rub-short risks in the engine bay without getting into a chassis flex study. Plus it creates holes to plug. I hate plugging holes. But I also spent the time, effort, and money to substantially re-engineer the SJ frame, sooooooo... might just be me.

The battery piece though, actually might’ve been easier painted. It’s been a while since I’ve done Lexan, but would definitely offer higher visibility on the names. Orange basecoat, engrave names, fill in names with black paint. Bam. Pops good. Really though, it’s so small, I honestly thought it was just black tape over the label. :( (What? It’s a valid thing.)

And I mean the original color of the valve cover - or at least how it looks in the photos. Maybe I’m just tired (okay I definitely am but still) of the same old ‘paint it body color’ thing people do with B18's. (Maybe it’s Acura’s fault for making so many in red and black.) But the way the silver is faded and caught the body color, like I said, it looks like a very light gold and man does it look good .

Not bright gold, but very subtle gold hue. I cannot for the life of me find a representative photo of what I’m thinking. Between gold and silver, almost like the color of oil.
